valentines day!!

It was a sunny afternoon. Sun seemed to be angry for some reason and was making everyone sweat like anything. But still, the air was filled with love everywhere. It was Feb 14th.

Two people were sitting in a very calm restaurant having a conversation. One seemed to be very excited to express everything and the other was highly confused.

"Do you know why we met today, that too in this calm restaurant?"
"Ya. Obviously to have lunch na?"
"Let me rephrase it. Do you know why we met today, on Feb 14th?"
"Oh, it's Feb 14th! I had forgotten it. Happy Valentine's day! So you're giving me a treat coz its Valentine's day??"
"Arey yaar. Haven't you ever realized that there's a very strong bond between us?"
"Ya I know we're really very good friends. There's really a very strong bond between us."
"No. I mean, we've a lot in common. Our tastes match, our interests match, our intentions are similar."
"Exactly. We really are the best of the friends."
"What I'm trying to say is, don't you think whats going on between us is something more than friendship? Something more precious?"
"I know its not just a friendship existing between us. I know you're more than a friend to me."
"Let me put it straight. The thing is, I can't help but realizing that I miss you wherever I go and I have very strong feelings towards you. I want to be with you only all the time and I enjoy it a lot when I talk to you. I smile just by reading a single message from you and whenever I am alone, I think about you. Let me sum it up..."
"But..."
"Wait. I'll finish it first. Whatever I told now, after summing it all up, I think that's what they call love. In that case, I really Love You a lot and lot. Do you love me?"
"Oh. That's why we met today? Stop this and be more practical. Whatever exists between us is just a friendship. Its just an infatuation. Think seriously and again, be more practical!"
"Please don't neglect it just like that. Listen to me and think about it seriously just once at least. I really love you and I have never felt about any other person in my entire life. Just the thought of spending my entire life with you makes me excited. Its practical also. Simply don't give such replies. Do think about what I have said seriously. I Love You!"
"How can i believe you? I am confused now. Its impossible. We're just friends."
"No. Please. I can do anything to prove that I love you. My feelings are really strong and unique. I want to spend my entire life only with you. You know how boring I was before. But now a days, haven't you realized that I'll be always smiling and even blushing whenever I'm with you?"
"Those are all filmy dialogues. Will do anything, blah blah.."
"But I mean it. You don't believe it? Then let me write some lines on you right here, right now. Wait...
A treasure worth more than a fortune lies
in your most beautiful, gorgeous eyes..
I even forgot to take my breath for a while
when I was lost somewhere, looking at your smile..
And.."
"That's enough. Do you really mean it all?"
"To the core. I just can't live without you."
"Assume that I too love you. But it's impossible practically. I'm from a very orthodox family. It's not at all possible to convince them if I'm in love. That too between us, just forget it."
"We'll try to convince them. Its up to us to take decisions regarding us since they won't be leading our life na. They can't change the fact that we love each other.."
"..I haven't yet told you tha.."
"And if they disagree also, we can live on our own. They have to accept the fact anyways. Otherwise they'll lose their precious daughter. I know you trust me!"
"I am confused."
"There're so many girls here, but I never liked anyone except you. You're the one for me. Please tell me that you love me."
"Do you really love me that much?"
"I love you more than I love my mom or any living soul on this earth."
"Will you keep me happy throughout?"
"Whatever I do will be for our happiness only. We'll have a blast always. Trust me. I really love you that much."
"I'm afraid that I'm the only daughter to my parents and I'd have to leave them for you. But I too have realized that I love you."
"I knew it darling! I knew it! Uff. Even my parents might lose their only daughter!" SHE replied.

Fun times

When i say fun times,i mean that the past week has been very good to me(which is a rarity btw).As you all would be knowing that i am in the final semester of my engineering,but contrary to general belief that final semesters are fun filled and a joy ride,my last semester has been anything but that.The only positive which comes out of this is that we don't have to give a shit about our attendance(not that we used to,in our earlier semesters:P).

Ya,so coming back to the point that the last week was good to me.Let me narrate what really happened the past week.when i say last week,i mean exactly a week from the present day i.e today.

On Thursday it was decided i would have to go to Bangalore for my project work.So there i was in the "City of Palaces".I reached at around 12 noon.The lesser i say about the train journey,the better!

Something really funny happened.On my way to my aunt's place,i saw a cow blocking the road.On one side of the road there were a group of Tamilians and on the other side were a few Malayalis.What i found funny was not that the two groups were trying to chase the cow away,but the way in which they were doing it.The Tamilians were trying to chase the cow away,while conversing in Tamil and the Malayalis were busy chasing the cow away in malayalam.And the cow just did'nt want to move.It was as if it was saying to those groups hey please speak in Kannada,cause i don't seem to be understanding whatever you'll are trying to say!I sure did have a silent laugh at that.And i am proud of the fact that something like this could only happen in INDIA.

P S:I don't mean any offense to the Tamilians or the Malayalis.

P P S:Not everybody is entitled to find the above story funny,which i totally understand because i really do have a bad sense of humor!

Once i reached my aunt's place,it sure felt like heaven.The thought having home cooked meal again was something i just did'nt want to let go of.Staying in a hostel,i seem to have forgotten what a real good home cooked meal tastes like,so obviously a trip to Mysore or Bangalore surely feels like how a Disneyland trip would feel like for a kid.I was supposed to leave Bangalore on Saturday,but the delicious Dosa my aunt made ruined it all!So i decided that i shall stay back till Sunday.On Sunday me and my cousins decided that we ll have a look at newly opened-MANTRI SQUARE,which is supposed to be ASIA's largest mall.And it sure did seem like that.And the no of people getting in and out of the mall left me awestruck.People sure had not come there to buy something but just to have a look at it.That is what happens in malls does'nt it?people just come there to have a look,maybe have some coffee or just chill for hours at the MC Donald's restaurant.So it was basically a nice experience.And i surely advice that if you ever go to Bangalore,just pay a visit to that place.U will surely enjoy!!

Cut to Shimoga..

After a nice trip to Bangalore,i returned to the place where i ve spent the last four years of my life.But i had no time to relax because today was my Technical seminar,and obviously i hadn't done much of preparation.So after slogging it out for two straight days,i e Tuesday and Wednesday,i was finally ready for my technical seminar.And by God's grace my seminar went quite well.The Certificate on my Technical Report says that,i have partially fulfilled the requirement needed to be awarded the "Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering".Ah!not that i ve truly earned it but i am surely proud of it!

So this is how the last week has been a wonderful week,minus the disappointments and the failures!I hope even you guys have had a wonderful week,and wish u a great weekend!till my next post,bye!take care!

IPL

I find it appropriate seein the latest trend that my first topic is the current flavor of the season-"IPL".People from all age groups,be it 6 or 60 seem to be enjoyin this highly entertaining,high octane,action packed form of cicket.And i say why not?In this age getting people to watch a test match is as difficult as asking Mr.Pervez Musharraf to stop lying.So T20 cricket seems to be the best thing that has happened to cricket.Yes,its hogging the limelight.But it deserves it,doesnt it?The IPL is rated among the top 5 leagues in the world.Its in some real good company i must say,just ranking behind the NBA and NFl.And to say that its only in its third year,makes it all the more wonderful.
The First season saw the SHANE WARNE led-RAJASTHAN ROYALS lifting the cup.As if they winning was not enough of a surprise,the ADAM GILCHRIST led-DECCAN CHARGERS lifted the cup in the second year,after they d earned the wooden spoon in the first edition.Talk of grand comebacks.And this year the IPL is back to where it all started roughly two years ago-INDIA.
But a part of me is sad.Sad about the fact that our national sport-HOCKEY finds it hard to get a stadium full of supporters for a world cup match in INDIA,when INDIA was up against their long time arch rivals PAKISTAN.I sincerely hope these things change.HOCKEY always WAS,IS and WILL remain our NATIONAL SPORT.

FINALLY!!!

Hello frens,this is shashank here..Here i am ,following the latest trend of blogging.Stars seem to be doing it.Many of my frens seem to be doing it too,so i thought maybe i ll try my hand at it too.Its been on my mind from a very long time that i have to start my very own blog and hence this.The initiative taken by me is courtesy a friend of mine called KD.I read his blog recently,and i felt it was time i start too.I thought why not give this a try,see what it feels like to type some non sense and actually feel good about it.My blog title says it all,JUST FOR FUN.And hence i quote a phrase from BRYAN ADAMS famous song-HERE I AM,THIS IS ME AND THIS IS WHERE I WANT TO BE..
